Turkey Twizzlers officially return to shops in two new flavours

Turley Twizzlers, a staple of school dinners unpopular with Jamie Oliver until they were withdrawn, are now back - in two new flavours.

The Bernard Matthews dinner treat are now officially set to return to the shops in Original Tangy Tomato and Chilli Cheese - and the company says they are healthier than before.

The twizzlers are now lower in calories and saturated fats.

Nutritionist, Dr Sarah Schenker said: "Turkey Twizzlers have listened to the public and completely transformed themselves into a much-improved product.

"They now have a nutritional profile they can be confident in. High in good quality protein and lower in fat, saturates, salt and sugar.

"You can create a balanced meal by teaming them with plenty of veg such as a corn on the cob and broccoli."

The next generation Turkey Twizzlers will be available across all major retailers starting with Iceland from August 20.

Shoppers will be able to find them in the frozen aisle priced at £3 for a pack of 8 Twizzlers.
