Turkey recipe goes viral online after it was found to contain an optical illusion

A video explaining how to cook a turkey has gone viral online after it was found to contain an optical illusion.

Originally posted in 2015, the video has once again proved popular as people shared what they saw when the scene of the video changed.

Just after the two minute mark, the brine can be seen swirling.

However many people noticed that if they continued to watch until the scene changed, then the turkey would also start to spin.

A redditor posted the video online, writing: “Found this freaky optical illusion while watching a cooking video. Stare at the centre of the brine until the scene changes.”

One person commented: “Great, now everything is spinning. How do I change back?”

While another said it was the “guitar hero effect” referring to the popular video game. When it was played for too long and the user looked away from the television screen, everything would appear to move.

One person wrote: “This happens when I go hiking after staring at the trail for a good while! When you look up and stare at a mountain in the background, it will look like it’s coming towards you.”

On the Youtube video itself, half of the comments were about the optical illusion while others praised the quality of the recipe.
