Turkey imposes COVID-19 movement curbs before Ramadan begins

Turkey has imposed a four-day lockdown in 31 provinces to try and stop the spread of the coronavirus as the country prepares for the Ramadan fast.

Critics say previous partial movement-restriction moves were badly organised and ineffectual.

But health officials say the infection rate is starting to plateau.
