Amid scorching temperatures and strong winds, wildfires have forced over 50,000 people to evacuate from 41 locations across Turkey, including Sakarya, Bilecik, Manisa, İzmir, and Hatay.
More than 200 homes and several businesses were damaged, while dozens of livestock were lost.
The disaster coincides with a severe heat dome gripping much of Europe, impacting countries like France, Spain, and Portugal.
“Extreme heat is no longer a rare event, it has become the new normal,” warned U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres.
