A driver who had a near miss on the motorway is looking to warn others as a pothole opens on the M53.
Posting on Facebook to warn others of the potential danger, they said: "Anyone who is joining the motorway from the second junction off the M53, the Moreton and Upton junction, be careful where it turns off to go southbound towards Clatterbridge there is a massive pothole.
"The car in front of me has just turfed up a huge bit of tarmac and narrowly missed my windscreen.

"I have reported it to highways, the police, and the council."
The ECHO understands that a National Highways engineer has since carried out an inspection of the motorway and has found no new or old potholes.
Potholes on motorways can be extremely hazardous on main motorways and A roads due to the high speeds of vehicles.
If you spot a pothole on a motorway or A road you should inform National Highways - formally Highway England - via their website.
If your vehicle suffered damage as the result of a pothole, you can make a claim. If it was a pothole on a motorway or A road you contact National Highways and if it was any other road, contact the local authority (unless it is a private or unadopted road).
To make a claim, contact the organisation responsible to tell them:
- what the damage was
- why you think they are responsible
- the specific location where the damage took place - the road name and the nearest marker post number or feature which identifies the part of the road you were on
- the date and time the damage was caused
It is also important to remember to not try to get a picture of a pothole on a main road, trespassing on a motorway is not only dangerous, but also a criminal offence.
