Tuohys strongly deny Michael Oher's allegations

The Tuohys are denying the claims of the man they used to call their son.

Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy responded to the court filing of Michael Oher from Aug. 14 that accused the couple of tricking him into a conservatorship and profiting millions from the use of his name.

The Tuohys "vehemently" denied the accusations of Oher in a four-page response submitted on Sept. 14.

The attorneys of the Tuohys also estimated that each of the four members of the Tuohy family made $100,000 from the film — and that Oher made the same amount.

The Tuohys also confirmed that $200,000 was given as a donation to Leigh Anne Tuohy's foundation, and said that Oher could've received the same amount for an organization of his choosing but said he "failed to take the necessary action to initiate the foundation despite the recommendations of the Respondents."

More about the Tuohys and Oher:

As for the conservatorship, the Tuohys say they "stand ready, willing and able to terminate the conservatorship by consent at any time.” They also deny having "ultimate control" of Oher's contracts, but said that putting him under conservatorship was how they were able to enroll him in college at Ole Miss.

“When it became clear that the Petitioner could not consider going to the University of Mississippi (“Ole Miss”) as a result of living with the Respondents, the NCAA made it clear that the only way he could attend the Ole Miss if he was part of the Tuohy family in some fashion. Conservatorship was the tool chosen to accomplish this goal,” the filing said.

However, Oher claimed he only found out in February that he wasn't adopted and instead placed under a conservatorship.

Oher was an offensive tackle in the NFL for eight seasons and won a Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens.
