The Wallasey tunnel was sealed off after a 13 year old girl 'jumped' from a nearby bridge.
On Saturday, emergency services were called at around 7.05pm to a concern for safety at Breck Road Bridge on the Wallasey Tunnel approach road.
Officers attended the scene and found a 13-year-old girl was on the wrong side of the railings on the bridge.

As they began engaging with the teenager she jumped.
She was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life threatening at this stage.
Traffic was temporarily held at the entrance of the Wallasey tunnel due to the incident.
One eyewitness said there were "lots of police" at the tunnel and "people couldn't leave" at the Wirral end or enter.
A photo taken by an eyewitness showed queues near the Wallasey tunnel as traffic was stationary while emergency services dealt with the incident.
One person said on social media that they had "never seen so many police."
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police told the ECHO : "We can confirm that emergency services were called to a concern for safety at Breck Road Bridge on the Wallasey Tunnel approach road in Wallasey.
"Officers were called at 7.05pm to reports that a 13-year-old girl was on the wrong side of the railings on the bridge.
"Officers attended at the scene, and as they began to engage with the teenager she jumped.
"She was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life threatening at this stage.
"Road closures were put in place whilst emergency services dealt with the incident."
