Tunisian journalist jailed for a year

Tunisian journalist Slim Boukhdhir has been sentenced to jail for a year for verbally abusing a policeman and refusing to show his identity card. Human rights groups say that Boukhdhir, a virulent critic of the government who has worked for the London-based al-Quds al-Arabi paper, has been harassed by the authorities for several years.
