Tunisia raised fuel prices on Wednesday for the second time in a month in an effort to reduce its budget deficit.
The step is one of a series of reforms the country’s international lenders want.
The price of a liter of gasoline rose on Thursday to 1.995 dinars from 1.955, the Energy Ministry said in a statement.
The price hike comes in implementation of “the automatic adjustment mechanism for the prices of some petroleum products and following the meeting of the technical price adjustment committee to set fuel prices for March.”
