There has been growing criticism of choices made by Tunisia's designated Prime Minister Habib Jemli prior to the parliamentary vote of confidence session.
Some parties have considered its members biased and corrupt. Also, some other members have been accused of backing Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali to run in the elections again.
In this context, Olfat Hamadi has affirmed that meetings were held for several hours with the prime minister designate. During these meetings, the document on strategic intentions for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs 2020-2025 was issued.
Hamadi was nominated to lead the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. But the portfolio was granted to Tunisian Ambassador to Jordan Khalid Suhaili.
Kamel Ayadi, head of the high-level Authority on Financial and Administrative Control, revealed that he turned down the portfolio of Good Governance and Anti-Corruption before he was offered the defense portfolio, which he unhesitatingly accepted.
Ayadi considered that the withdrawal of the Democratic Current and the People's Movement from the talks compelled Jemli to change his options, knowing that the PM-designate announced forming a government of national qualified independent figures.
Opposition parties said some figures inside the cabinet are known for being loyal to certain groups, such as Maha al-Isawi who is from the Heart of Tunisia.
