Tunisia Anticipates Cabinet Reshuffle That Would Oust 'Ministers of the Palace'

As Tunisian Prime Minister Hisham Al-Mashichi announced giving some of his powers to Minister of Public Service Hasna Ben Slimane, several opposition parties – spearheaded by the Heart of Tunisia – continue calling for a cabinet reshuffle.

Leaked information revealed that, if approved, the reshuffle would include the Ministry of Culture, and the Ministry of the Environment in addition to some ministers who are affiliated with Tunisian President Kais Saied such as the ministers of interior, justice, finance, health, and agriculture.

Heart of Tunisia is working on ousting those it describes as “ministers of the palace.”

The party’s enthusiasm for the reshuffle increased following the issuance of an imprisonment sentence in the case of Nabil Karoui.

Other political parties do not have the same stance regarding a government's reshuffle.

Meanwhile, the Dignity Coalition tries to benefit from its tripartite parliamentarian front with Ennahda Movement and Heart of Tunisia.

In the meantime, Director of Tunisian President’s office Nadia Okasha denied that that the president has any links to reports claiming judicial proceedings are under way against prominent figures.

Okasha stressed the president's rejection of these allegations and pledged to put an end to them.
