Firefighters rush to Castleford home after tumble dryer causes blaze

Fire crews were called to a property in Castleford after a tumble dryer caught fire.

One man suffered smoke inhalation in the blaze on Carlyle Road at 1am this morning (Monday).

He was given oxygen therapy by fire service personnel before being handed over into care of ambulance crews.

One hose reel, two breathing apparatus and a high powered fan to clear the property of smoke. Teams from Castleford, Pontefract and Normanton attended.
