SMU has the right mix to keep the fun going.
QB Shane Buechele has been the perfect triggerman for the offense – coming off a brilliant performance against USF, completing 84% of his passes with three touchdowns – and the points just keep on coming. Whether it’s against TCU or Texas State, the Mustangs are good for at least 40 points per game.
Tulsa doesn’t have the ability to keep up.
This isn’t a bad Golden Hurricane team, and the offense has been okay, but the offensive line has problems keeping decent defensive fronts out of the backfield. SMU leads the nation in sacks, and Tulsa allows four sacks per game and give up a whopping ten tackles for loss per outing.
Oh no.
The Tulsa pass defense isn’t bad, and it’ll come up with a few picks, but it won’t be enough to survive. SMU’s offense is playing too well right now – it keeps on producing on a consistent basis.
