What’s Going To Happen
Tulsa is a whole lot better than the 2-6 might make it seem.
Who has it lost to? Michigan State, San Jose State, SMU, Navy, Cincinnati, and Memphis, missing a late field goal to lose to the Tigers in the final seconds.
It’s not going to get a whole lot easier for the Golden Hurricane with UCF up next after dealing with a Tulane team looking to becoming bowl eligible.
The Green Wave has one of the nation’s best running games and puts up points in bunches, but the defense has been a massive issue in AAC play. There isn’t enough of a pass rush and the run D isn’t a wall. However …
Tulsa is struggling way too much against anyone who can pound away.
It’s been good from time to time, and it held up against Cincinnati and Memphis – to a point – but Tulane will get the O going right away, the secondary will keep terrific QB Zach Smith from going off, and it’ll get that sixth win to get ready for a bowl.
Expect Tulsa to get lots of yards, but they’re not going to translate into enough points.
