What’s Going To Happen
Both teams are bowl eligible, so now it’s about who can get the better bowl slot, and who can stay alive in the American Athletic Conference title chase.
Temple came up with the win it absolutely needed to have over USF last week, and it still has a date against Cincinnati up next. For now, just getting by Tulane and its dangerous defensive front would be a good enough step to stay alive.
Tulane lost to Navy and Memphis, but it still gets to make some noise in the conference with UCF and SMU to go. The Green Wave have the rushing offense to take control of the game on the road against a Temple run defense that’s been good overall, but got hammered by UCF for almost 400 rushing yards a few weeks ago.
The Owls have been wildly inconsistent, while Tulane has had problems against the teams with elite offensive styles. Navy’s running game, SMU’s passing attack, and Auburn being Auburn were able to get by the Green Wave. That’s it.
However, after getting embarrassed by UCF a few weeks ago, Temple clamp down just enough with a tough defensive effort to go along with a sharp day from QB Antony Russo to survive a tough four quarter battle.
