One of the UK’s largest tour operators has updated its facemask rule in the wake of the latest relaxation of Covid rules. Tui has said that face masks will no longer be a legal requirement on TUI Airways flights to and from England, Northern Ireland and Wales .
This means that TUI passengers flying to and from Wales will no longer be required to wear a face covering. However, in line with UK government and EU Charter guidance, the travel firm said: "We strongly recommend that you still wear a mask throughout your flight".
The airline dropped its mandatory mask rule for passengers on flights from England and Northern Ireland earlier this month. The latest rule change reduces the restriction for Wales. However, under current guidance, it is still mandatory for passengers aged 12 and above travelling on TUI Airways to and from Scotland to wear a mask throughout their flight unless they are medically exempt. A Tui spokesperson said: "It’s important to note that you may still be required to wear a mask when leaving the aircraft and once inside the airport at your arrival destination."

Depending upon your destination, there are still additional rules in place from travel. It is mandatory for customers aged two and above travelling to the USA on TUI Airways to wear a mask throughout their flight. If you are exempt, remember to carry evidence.
It is also mandatory for all customers aged six and over travelling to Italy on TUI Airways to wear an FFP2 mask throughout their flight. The airline said that if travellers are showing any Covid-19 symptoms or have recently tested positive you should not travel and will be able to change their holiday fee-free under the firm's Covid flexibility policy.
The airline, TUI Airways, operates to 87 destinations in 35 countries with more than 60 aircraft. It advises passengers to check the website for full guidelines.
