TUI scraps further flights and holidays amid UK traveller ban

Holidays to France are off the cards for the foreseeable future after the country announced a new travel ban on UK tourists, causing TUI, easyJet and more to cancel holidays to the destination.

The new rules, which were brought in due to worries over the UK's increasing number of omicron cases, stops Brits from entering France unless it is an 'essential reason' - which won't include business or tourism.

The news has come as a huge blow to those hoping for a winter break to France, with the country being a popular destination because of its wide array of ski holidays and Christmas markets.

TUI owns Crystal Ski holidays, which has cancelled departures to France for December 21, 28, and January 4.

The company said that it has contacted affected customers to offer them options such as a rebooking incentive.

It also said that it would contact holidaymakers who have booked flights into France with plans to travel onwards to other popular ski hotspots like Andorra and Switzerland, to arrange alternative flights and travel options.

As part of a statement issued on its website, the company said: "We’ll continue to monitor the situation for future departures. For customers due to travel 3rd January to 31st January that want to change their holiday can do so up to 14 days before their departure with our Crystal Holiday Promise.

"For customers due to travel 1st February onwards that want to change their holiday can do so up to 28 days before their departure with our Crystal Holiday Promise."
