TUI's latest updates for Spain, Greece and Croatia as it restarts routes for summer

TUI is restarting a number of holidays this week including popular hotspots like Spain, Greece and Croatia, despite unveiling a number of other holiday cancellations for August.

The travel giant resumed flights to Croatia's Dubrovnik on Sunday (August 1), and this week will also be rolling out routes to Split and Pula.

Meanwhile, those looking to head to Greece for the summer will be able to choose from routes including Santorini, Kefalonia, Thassos, Halkidiki, Samos and Parga.

There will also be a resumption of flights and packages to Reus in mainland Spain. For those looking for somewhere a little more long-haul, the travel firm recently resumed its flights to Caribbean hotspot Jamaica.

Croatia is currently on England's green watchlist. This means that currently Brits returning to the UK won't need to self-isolate, although they will need to take a PCR test on day two. (It's worth noting that the green watchlist means a country is at a higher risk of going amber).

Spain Greece and Jamaica are all currently on the amber list, meaning Brits will need to self-isolate for 10 days and take PCR tests on days two and eight. However, those who are fully vaccinated against Covid can swerve the self-isolation.

The next review of the UK's green, amber and red destinations is expected to be announced later this week. There are many factors which come into play regarding where countries are placed, but there are some contenders for the green list including some dreamy destinations such as St Lucia and St Kitts and Nevis.

Where TUI is offering holidays

The travel firm is already offering holidays to a number of green and amber destinations, although it has said it won't operate packages to red list countries.

Green : Madeira, Porto Santo Antigua, Barbados, Gibraltar, Grenada, Iceland, Jersey, as well as Malta on non-TUI flights.

Amber : Balearics (Ibiza, Majorca, Menorca), Canaries (Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma and Tenerife), Greece (Corfu, Crete, Kos, Rhodes, Skiathos and Zakynthos), Cyprus (Larnaca and Paphos), Jamaica, Mainland Spain (Alicante and Malaga), Morocco (Marrakech), Portugal, and St Lucia.

This week, the new destinations being added to the line-up include:

  • From August 2: Croatia (Split), Morocco (Agadir), Greece (Halkidiki) and Switzerland (TUI Lakes & Mountains) with non-TUI flights
  • From August 3: Croatia (Pula) and Greece (Santorini)
  • From August 5: Greece (Samos)
  • From August 7: Mainland Spain (Reus)

Always check the latest Foreign Office advice for a destination before booking a trip - this is where you'll find key information including any entry requirements for UK travellers.

TUI has teamed up with Chronomics to offer testing kits from £20 for anyone who books its package holidays to green and amber list destinations this summer. (These only include the tests you need when heading back to the UK, although there are discounted tests available if you need some for the destination you're travelling to).
