TUI issues warning for travellers with holidays or flights booked over Covid vaccine

TUI has issued an important Covid vaccine update for travellers who have holidays booked with the budget holiday operator.

Travellers have been urged by TUI to double check they have printed proof of vaccination - or they could be banned from boarding the plane and embarking on their holiday abroad.

In an updated statement on TUI's website, published on November 23, the airline stated that NHS passes must be dated from November 1.

Customers who have printed PDF copies of vaccination status before November 1 are being urged by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) to get a new copy to ensure it is accepted by travel authorities.

In a statement, TUI said: "The FCDO have advised that customers travelling to a number of destinations will need to ensure that any printed proof of their vaccination status needs to be dated from 1 November.

"We would advise any customers who have printed PDF copies of their NHS Covid Pass before 1 November to print a new copy to ensure it is accepted.

"Please note that holiday destinations have their own entry requirements which may vary, and we recommend that customers check the FCDO advice for the country they are travelling to."

The FCDO stated on its website: "If you are travelling with a printed PDF proof of vaccination status, it must date from 1 November to ensure that the certificate can be scanned successfully.”

In Scotland, travellers must use the Covid Status App - the vaccine passport - when travelling abroad which has been recognised by the EU in in the EU Digital Covid Certificate (EUDCC).
