TUI issues important coronavirus update on its flights and holiday packages

TUI has again updated its travel information and advice for those looking to get abroad this summer.

Now just weeks away from July, many hopeful holidaymakers are wondering what will happen to their already booked getaways.

The UK's biggest tour operator has published a list of holiday packages that they have decided to cancel in light of the ongoing situation regarding coronavirus.

A statement from TUI reads: "The Foreign and Commonwealth Office currently advise against all but essential travel.

"We’d like to extend a personal thank you for your patience and understanding as our customer service and social media teams work around the clock during such an unprecedented time."

Instead the firm is offering refund credit (Adam Gerrard / Daily Mirror)

It continued: "We’ve been working behind the scenes to make a number of changes to our processes. These changes will make sure that we’re able to offer additional support to you going forward and will make managing your booking much easier for you."

If your holiday falls into one of the below categories, it has been cancelled:

• TUI holidays travelling on or before July 10 2020

• TUI River Cruises sailings travelling up until and including November 25 2020

• TUI Lakes and Mountain holidays travelling up until and including September 30 2020

• Marella Cruises sailings on or before July 30 2020 and all sailings detailed below
o  All sailings on Marella Celebration
o  Sailings on Marella Discovery 2 from Naples, Asia and the Middle East up to 30 April 2021
o  Sailings on Marella Dream from Palma up to 4 May 2021
o  Marella Discovery sailings from Jamaica in December 2020 and January 2021
o  Marella Explorer 2 sailings from Naples between 5 May 2021 to 20 October 2021

"All other holidays are continuing to operate as planned and will be continuously reviewed," the statement added.

The latest from TUI follows an update from rival airline Jet2 holidays and Jet2.com who have postponed the date of when their flights and holidays will resume to July 15.

*This story was updated after an update from TUI at 2pm on 11 June, which announced all holidays were now cancelled before July 10
