TUI has launched brand new beer and wine-themed cruise holidays complete with onboard tastings and shore excursions to breweries and vineyards.
TUI River Cruises will offer a Wine on the Rhine itinerary which (you guessed it) is a celebration of wine, as well as 'Rhine & Stein' which will cater to beer lovers.
Wine on the Rhine will be a seven-night sailing celebrating some of Germany's best wines from Rieslings to Grauburgunders, complete with on-board tastings with experts, guest speakers and themed events.
Departing from Frankfurt, posts of call will include Rudesheim, Boppard, Koblenz, Speyer, Strasbourg, Breisach and Mainz – with nine different wine-based shore experiences available from tours of wineries to tastings.
Meanwhile, Rhine & Stein will pay homage to Germany's iconic beer mugs or 'steins', also sailing from Frankfurt. This cruise will include six ports of call across Germany and the Netherlands including Cologne, Nijmegen, Amsterdam, Arnhem, Dusseldorf and Koblenz.
Guest experts will host on-board tastings of all kinds of beers from Bavarian wheat brews to classic pilsners and fruit flavoured lagers, not to mention there will be themed evenings on the ship and shore excursions ranging from brewery visits to tastings.
Other itineraries will include a 'Mini Wine on the Rhine' sailing, a four-night version of the main cruise, as well as a Dancing down the Rhine hosted by professional couple with dance lessons, competitions, themed events and entertainment.
All sailings will take place on board one of the holiday firm's brand new cruise ships, TUI Maya, which includes plenty of brilliant amenities including an onboard lounge, bistro, restaurant, and plenty of live evening entertainment from music to quizzes.
The four itineraries will kick off from October 31 but you can already book them on tui.co.uk. There are four-, six- and seven-night holidays available.
Prices start from £758pp for seven-night sailings, based on two people sharing a superior deck 1 cabin on a full board plus basis. This also includes your flights, transfers, and costs of all tastings, on-board events and entertainment. (For the dance-themed cruise, dance lessons are included).
There are additional charges for shore experiences, but TUI is offering customers excursion credit included as standard with all TUI River Cruise bookings (£120 per seven-night sailing).
