Tui flights from Bristol Airport see big change to food and drink served onboard

Passengers travelling from Bristol Airport with airline Tui have been warned to expect a reduced service when it comes to in-flight food and drink. According to Tui Airways own website they will not be able to serve hot or cold meals, or even sandwiches.

Plus anyone travelling on a short or mid-haul flight will find even their snack and drink range reduced. The changes are due to staff shortages and will affect 15 UK airports including Bristol.

Exeter will also be affected by the changes, reports Somerset Live. Passengers have been advised to purchase their own soft drinks for the fight once they are through security at the airport.

TUI explained: "We can confirm that unfortunately due to staff shortages with our catering supplier, there will be no hot and cold meals or sandwiches, and a limited offering of snacks and drinks, available onboard TUI Airways short - and mid-haul flights over the coming days. Customers may therefore want to bring their own food and soft drinks onboard (no alcohol permitted).

"Any soft drinks over 100ml will need to be purchased after you have passed through security." The disruption does not affect any long-haul flights to Aruba, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Mexico, Orlando and St Lucia and meal services on these flights will "continue to operate as normal."

This will impact flights from the following airports:

  • Birmingham

  • Bristol

  • Cardiff

  • Doncaster Sheffield

  • Dublin

  • East Midlands

  • Edinburgh

  • Exeter

  • Glasgow

  • Humberside

  • Leeds Bradford

  • Luton

  • Manchester

  • Norwich

  • Teesside
