TUI flight cancellations in July over uncertainty around amber list countries

Major airline Tui has released a full list of cancelled flights to a number of amber list countries through most of July due to Covid restrictions and uncertainty.

It comes as Malta, Madeira, and the Balearic Islands have been added to the UK's travel green list.

They are joined by a number of UK overseas territories and Caribbean islands including Bermuda and the Cayman Islands, Antigua, Barbuda, Dominica, Barbados and Grenada.

The change means holidaymakers will no longer have to self-isolate on their return to the UK from these areas.

TUI has been updating its policy every three weeks in line with the government updates with the next expected on July 15.

The TUI website states: "All customers impacted by these cancellations will be contacted directly and will be able to request a full cash refund, or to change to a later date or alternative holiday and receive a booking incentive."

These destinations TUI have cancelled flights to July:

Up to and including July 21

  • Bulgaria
  • Cape Verde
  • Costa Rica
  • Dominican Republic
  • Egypt
  • Italy
  • Mainland Spain
  • Mexico
  • Morocco
  • Tunisia
  • Turkey
  • All TUI Lakes & Mountains destinations

TUI has also had to cancel all holidays which include non-TUI flights to Canada, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Thailand, Tobago, UAE and USA up to including July 21.

The airline added: "All customers impacted by these cancellations will be contacted directly and will be able to request a full cash refund, or to change to a later date or alternative holiday and receive a booking incentive.

"If we need to cancel any future holidays because of updated Government guidance, or as a result of reviewing our holiday programmes, we will be in touch directly and aim to give customers at least 7 days’ notice.

"We would like to thank our customers for their understanding at this time."
