TUI extends holiday cancellations for Spain, including the Balearic and Canary Islands

TUI has announced that it is extending cancellations for Brits with holidays booked to Spain, the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands.

At the time of writing, the Foreign Office advises against 'all but essential travel' to Spain, including the island hotspots. Anybody who is returning from these destinations will be required to quarantine for 14 days.

As a result, TUI is extending cancellations for holidays booked until (and including) Sunday 16th August.

If you are affected by the cancellations, you will be given the option to amend your trip for free, or you can also opt for a full cash refund if you no longer want to travel.

The travel firm is also offering those with holidays booked to Spain beyond the 16th August the option to amend their holiday for free, or cancel and get a refund.

You can read the full statement from the travel firm below:

" Due to the updated travel advice from the UK Foreign Office advising against all but essential travel to all areas of Spain, TUI UK has now cancelled all holidays to Spain, including the Balearic Islands and Canary Islands, up to and including Sunday 16 August 2020.

"Customers will be able to amend their holiday for free and receive a booking incentive or cancel and receive a full cash refund.

"In light of the on-going uncertainty customers with holidays to Mainland Spain before Tuesday 1 September can amend their holiday for free or cancel and receive a full cash refund.

"Customers with holidays to the Balearic and Canary Islands up to and including Sunday 23 August can amend their holiday for free or cancel and receive a full cash refund. Customers currently on holiday will be able to continue their holiday as planned."
