Countries are tightening travel restrictions as the Omicron variant continues to spread.

The World Health Organisation has now identified the mutated strain in over 30 countries across the globe.

The "variant of concern" has led the UK government to reintroduce tougher restrictions as 10 countries have been added to the red list.

Visitors from South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho, Botswana, Eswatini, Zimbabwe, Angola, Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia all face the stricter measures.

Anyone returning from a red list country will need to stay in a managed quarantine hotel for 10 days at the cost of £2,235 per traveller.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps made the announcement on November 29 and said he will review the measures 3 weeks after this date.
