TUI confirms even more flight cancellations throughout November

TUI has updated its latest flight cancellations after adding a popular winter sun hotspot on the list.

TUI confirmed that it would be cancelling flights to Morocco following the announcement that Moroccan authorities have banned British flights from travelling into the country as Covid cases rise throughout the UK.

The airline put a statement out on their website explaining the change to customers.

TUI said: "The Moroccan Government has notified us of a change in regulation that affects flights from the UK to Morocco from 21 October.

"As a result, we have unfortunately had to cancel flights to Marrakech and Agadir up to and including 31 October 2021.

"We are contacting customers in departure date order to discuss their options, which include amending to another destination or a full refund.

"We have received permission from the Moroccan authorities to operate flights back to the UK until 31 October, so customers will be returning on their original flight as planned.

"We would like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding during this time."

This came after flights to La Palma were forced to a halt due to the volcano eruption that has been causing devastation on the island since September.

On Friday TUI announced:"Due to the ongoing situation we’ve unfortunately had to cancel all flights to La Palma departing up to and including 17 November 2021. All impacted customers will be contacted directly to discuss their options.

"The next scheduled flight to La Palma is 18 November 2021."

Due to travel bans and natural disasters, the popular holiday provider and airline has had to ground some of its fleets.

The airline has been updating its flight schedule in line with the UK Government's travel updates.

They cancelled flights to red list countries but following the latest review, where only seven countries remained on the 'No-go' list, TUI restarted most of its holidays this month, including to Turkey, Jamaica and Cancun last week.

Egypt's Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh also resumed last week.

The airline is still operating to a number of green list destinations which includes most of Croatia and Madeira, as well as holidays with non-TUI flights such as Malta, Iceland, Gibraltar and Barbados.
