TUI cancels more holidays despite 47 countries being removed from the red list

Holiday operator TUI has cancelled more holidays for October and November despite the UK's red list shrinking to just seven countries.

The company, which offers short and long haul breaks, has put a stop to many packages due to Covid and extended the restart dates of many others.

In a statement, a TUI spokesperson said "Please rest assured, if your holiday has been cancelled, we’ll be contacting you as soon as possible to discuss your options.

"If you booked online, we'll be updating your booking information in Manage My Booking as quickly as we can, too".

With the Government's announcement that the red list would feature only, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Columbia, Ecuador, Panama, Venezuela and Peru, the move has come as a surprise.

A full list of TUI flights that have been cancelled can be found below.

TUI said on their website: "We won’t take any customers to red destinations or those which require quarantine on arrival, unless this can be foregone by a Covid test.

"If we need to cancel holidays because of updated Government guidance, or after reviewing our holiday programme, we will contact customers and aim to give at least seven days advance notice."

The holiday operator are however restarting a number of trips again this month.

Many popular tourist destinations in Turkey are being given the green light, with Antalya, Bodrum and Izmir all having chartered flights return from October 16th.

Jamaica and Cancun will return from October 17 with Sharm El Sheikh holidays resuming a day later.
