TUI cancels more flights as airline gives new date for when holidays will restart

TUI has announced they are cancelling all holidays until June 11 and Marella Cruises up to June 30.

Previously, TUI said beach holidays up to and including May 14 and Marella Cruise holidays up to and including May 31 would no longer operate.

But their latest move, sees them push the date further back as the coronavirus outbreak continues.

A TUI UK spokesperson told the ECHO: "Due to the ongoing travel restrictions, we will be cancelling all TUI holidays until 11 June 2020 and all Marella Cruises up to 30 June 2020.

"We are proactively contacting all customers whose bookings are impacted to offer a range of flexible options."

How to get a refund from TUI

The spokesperson continued: "Customers will receive a 20% booking incentive when accepting a refund credit to move to another date, or can request a cash refund.

"For customers travelling after 12 June 2020, we have extended our flexible amends programme until 11 July, so customers with bookings between 12 June and 11 July can amend to another date for free.

"We would like to thank customers for their patience and understanding, especially given the scale of people we are trying to help."

Earlier this month, the UK Foreign Office postponed all foreign travel "indefinitely".

In a post shared on Twitter, the FCO wrote: “Travel update: The Foreign Office indefinitely advises against all non-essential global travel.”

A video attached to the tweet read: “The situation is changing rapidly. Travellers could face severe disruption and be unable to return to the UK.“
