TUI cancels a number of Scots holidays to Spain, Greece and Cyprus

TUI has cancelled a number of Scots holidays in July amid “uncertainty around travel”.

The travel firm said that flights and holidays to the likes of Greece, mainland Spain and Croatia have been axed in an update to customers.

It said that it will “continually review” its holiday programme in line with government updates on international travel amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The UK Government is expected to reveal the result of its latest review on July 15 - with the Scottish Government set to give an update on that date.

TUI said that it will continue to operate in destinations where borders are open and where government officials allow travel.

Customers affected by the latest string on cancellations will be contacted “as soon as possible” about their next options - which includes the option of a full cash refund, a change in the date of the holiday or the potential to rebook at a different destination.

In a statement, a spokesperson for TUI said: “We want to offer out customers flexibility and choice this summer, so where borders are open and FCDO advice allows travel, we will operate to those destinations as planned.

“We are continually reviewing our holiday programme and cancellations in line with the Government updates every three weeks, with the next update expected on the 15th July.
