TUI has announced that it will resume its Portugal holiday packages and flights from the 29th August, after the FCO changed its advice to allow Brits to return to the sunny hotspot.
The FCO announced on Thursday night that from the 22nd August, Brits will be allowed to go to Portugal for non-essential travel - and they won't need to quarantine for 14 days when they come back.
A TUI spokesperson told Mirror Online: "We’re really pleased the Government has confirmed British travellers will be able to holiday to Portugal without the need to quarantine on their return to the UK.
"In line with the latest advice, we will be resuming flights to Portugal from 29 August.
We look forward to welcoming our customers back very soon."
When we took a look, there were plenty of TUI deals to be had for Portugal breaks, especially in the Algarve.
For example, we found packages from £259pp for travel dates in September, based on two people travelling for seven nights.
As for flight only deals, we found some fares from £129pp based on two people travelling, also for seven nights.
TUI's not the only big travel firm to be resuming package holidays to Portugal. Jet2holidays has also announced plans to resume holidays from the 24th August - and there are flight-only fares to be found from £35 each way.
Brits who head to Portugal won't need to quarantine when they arrive, but there are some entry requirements including health screenings for all arrivals. If you're thinking of a trip to Madeira, Porto Santo or the Azores, then you will need to take a coronavirus test before you travel or when you arrive.
If you are considering a last minute getaway, you should still continue to check the FCO's Portugal travel advice, as this is being regularly reviewed during the pandemic. Make sure to check this before you plan or book a trip, and before you travel.
