TUI adds 135 new hotels to portfolio after Thomas Cook collapse

TUI has added 135 new hotels to its portfolio which were previously offered by Thomas Cook.

The company said it chose to add the new properties "following customer demand".

Among the new hotels is the 4T Grand Cettia Hotel in Turkey which was previously exclusive to Thomas Cook.

There will also be 16 new hotels in Greece, 22 new hotels in the Canary Islands, 13 new hotels in Mexico, as well as six new hotels in the Balearics, Mirror Online reports.

The new hotels are already available to book on the TUI website for holidays in 2020.

Mark Hall, director of product and destination experience at TUI UK & Ireland, said: "At TUI we’re committed to offering outstanding holidays and to support the additional capacity growth.

"We are delighted to be introducing a wide range of hotels popular with Thomas Cook customers to make sure holiday makers still get to experience these great resorts.

"The customer is truly at the heart of everything we do at TUI and this additional growth in hotels demonstrates our continued commitment for people to discover their smile with us."

Thousands of holidaymakers were left stranded earlier this year following the collapse of Thomas Cook.

It led to the biggest peacetime repatriation scheme as hundreds of tourists were flown home.
