Follow the latest transfer news and rumours live from the second week of the summer window as Premier League clubs look to strengthen their squads, with European football also set to resume this week. Arsenal are looking at numerous midfield options as they aim to ensure further trophies after last weekend’s FA Cup final win, with Willian, Philippe Coutinho and Thomas Partey all on Mikel Arteta’s radar.

Meanwhile, Manchester United‘s saga with Jadon Sancho looks set to wrap up any day now, with a five-year deal on the table for the youngster as Alexis Sanchez’s time as a United player seemingly nears its end.

Elsewhere, Chelsea coach Frank Lampard could be preparing a mass overhaul of his defence, with as many as five players from his backline up for sale. Such a move would free up funds for an offer for Leicester’s Ben Chilwell, whom the Blues will likely have to make the most expensive defender in the world if they are to secure him. Follow all of the latest below:

Welcome to The Independent's live coverage of all the happenings from the transfer window on Tuesday, from done deals to all the latest rumours.
First of all, here is a round-up of yesterday's news before we get into today's developments...
The Independent's Miguel Delaney has reported that Jadon Sancho is confident of being a Manchester United player by the end of the week.

The Borussia Dortmund and England winger, 20, has agreed personal terms.

Full story here:
Meanwhile, Willian has begun talks with Arsenal over a free transfer from Chelsea.

The Blues have not been willing to offer the winger a long-term extension at Stamford Bridge, but it seems the Gunners are prepared to sign the Brazilian on a multi-year deal...

Expect more on this one today:
Elsewhere, Danny Rose has said he is very much eager to make a Tottenham return.

The defender spent the second half of last season on loan at Newcastle and does not appear to be in Jose Mourinho’s plans in north London, but Rose hasn't given up hope just yet.

Here's all he had to say:
Further to The Independent's story on Jadon Sancho's seemingly imminent move to Manchester United...

The Daily Mail is reporting that the player's contract would likely be a five-year deal.

The Borussia Dortmund and England winger is still just 20 years old.
Arsenal are also targeting Philippe Coutinho and Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey as they look to improve their options in midfield.

It is not clear whether the Gunners can afford or even desire to bring both players as well as Willian to the Emirates, but they are keeping tabs on all three.

As our own Miguel Delaney reported this week: Coutinho has been offered to Arsenal by Barcelona, with Matteo Guendouzi plus just £9 million likely to be the trade-off, so the Gunners have a decision to make...

Here are further details:
While Jadon Sancho is nearing his arrival at Manchester United, a winger leaves the club...

Alexis Sanchez, on loan at Inter Milan, is set to become a permanent part of the Serie A side this week.

Fabrizio Romano of Sky Italy is reporting that Inter will acquire the Chile international on a free, but they will be paying a wage of €7 million per season.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has reportedly put five of his defenders up for sale as he looks to free up money for a move for Ben Chilwell.

The Times are reporting that Kurt Zouma, Andreas Christensen, Emerson Palmieri and Marcos Alonso are among those to be considered expendable as the Blues' pursuit of Leicester full-back Chilwell continues.

Chelsea are expected to have to make Chilwell the most expensive defender in the world – at around £80 million – in order to secure his services.
While Manchester United's signing of Jadon Sancho should be completed any day now, the Red Devils are expected to wait to move for Jack Grealish.

The Aston Villa captain, who has three years left on his contract, was vital in his current club's final-day survival in the Premier League this season.

But the Daily Mail is reporting that the 24-year-old is not a priority for United, who could wait until the end of the transfer window to coax the midfielder to Old Trafford.
Pedro has confirmed he has undergone successful shoulder surgery, meaning the FA Cup final defeat was in fact the winger's last game for Chelsea.

It was in that match that the Spaniard picked up the shoulder injury that has ruled him out of the Blues' impending Champions League last-16 second leg against Bayern Munich.

Pedro is set to join Roma this summer.
Paris Saint-Germain could be looking to offload former Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye, according to reports in France.

The 30-year-old Senegal international is on Wolves' radar as a result, per Le10 Sport.
Crystal Palace and Republic of Ireland midfielder James McCarthy is attracting a lot of interest in the transfer market.

The 29-year-old is a potential target for West HamNewcastle and Aston Villa, according to 90min.
One player who has suitors queuing up for his services is Kim Min-jae.

The South Korea international is in the crosshairs of Tottenham, Everton, RB Leipzig, Lazio and PSV Eindhoven.

Kim, 23, plays at centre-back for Chinese outfit Beijing Guoan, whom he joined last year.
Here are some more details on the retirement of former Real Madrid and Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas, who won five La Liga titles, three Champions Leagues and a World Cup – among many other trophies – in an illustrious career...
Highly-regarded Norwich defender Ben Godfrey is the subject of interest from Germany and Italy, according to Sky Sports.

Serie A side AC Milan and Bundesliga team Bayer Leverkusen are both said to be keeping tabs on the 22-year-old, who is estimated to be worth approximately £30m.
Manchester United are in no rush to complete transfer business early, according to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, despite negotiations for Jadon Sancho reaching an advanced stage.
The Bundesliga club are understood to have set a deadline of 10 August for a bid to be tabled, with the Dortmund hierarchy eager to find a replacement Sancho during the current window.
But when asked about forthcoming transfer business on Tuesday, Solskjaer was relaxed about the need to bring players in early.

Manchester United's deal for Jadon Sancho will be completed soon, says Fabrizio Romano. He is expected to earn an eye-watering £250,000 per week on what is a five-year contract.
Chris Smalling has tweeted his disappointment after Manchester United denied him the chance to stay and fight for the Europa League with Roma.
Smalling has impressed on loan at the Italian giants, and hoped to be granted a loan extension to play in European competition, which starts this week.
However, with United potentially set to face Roma in the knockout stages, there was an unwillingness to let the centre-back stay in Rome and potentially come up against him.
He tweeted: "I’m gutted that I can’t finish what we started this season. To experience the love shown to me in such a short time was extra special and it will not be forgotten. I want to thank and wish all the players and staff the best of luck against Sevilla. DAJE ROMA!"
