Shocking drone footage shows the aftermath of an explosion which wrecked several homes and left four people in hospital.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the incident at Gorse Park in Kincaidston, Ayr, around 7.10pm on Monday, October 18.

The video reveals that two of the four terraced houses affected have been completely destroyed.

Face coverings to remain in schools when pupils return from October holidays

Secondary pupils in Scotland will have to continue to wear face coverings in schools when they return from the October break, the Scottish Government has announced.

A homeless charity has blasted 'horrific' conditions as they were forced to help a couple with a ten-day-old baby at a Glasgow soup kitchen.

Shocking pictures shared with the Record show the father of the infant pushing the pram in the queue at the regular stall on the city's Argyle Street ran by the Homeless Project Scotland charity.

The latest images from the soup kitchen come following shock over the number of children being forced to use it.

Low-income families to receive £160 cash boost this month and again before Christmas

Low income families across the country will benefit from a £320 uplift payment to be made before Christmas as part of the Scottish Government’s commitment to tackling child poverty.

Eligible families with children in school will receive payments of £160 per child in October and December. Two Bridging Payments of £100 have already been made through local councils, taking the total to £520 this year.
