The Hairy Bikers’ Northern Exposure
8pm, BBC2
The hirsute pair ride through Sweden, their facial fuzz curled to perfection, while arguing about who’s the most Viking-like. Reindeer calmly cross the road in front of them as they speed along, before they take a spectacular helicopter ride into the mountains. The food’s local and fresh, with Nordic fish, herbs and berries, which Si and Dave cook alfresco. They also try coffee flavoured with cheese, get an invite to a house-jumping dinner, and meet Lars, who keeps and cooks reindeer. Hannah Verdier
Britain’s Biggest Adventures With Bear Grylls
9pm, ITV
The wandering Bear hits the Highlands in his final big adventure, pitching up at Loch Morar, the deepest loch of them all. He tries to find endangered freshwater mussels and heads to the ancient Caledonian forest, travelling in wild style with a team of sled dogs. It features a score so inappropriately dramatic that it distracts you from the goings-on in the programme; the sinister, foreboding strings, as Grylls pulls a salmon all of three inches long from a stream, prove unintentionally hilarious. Ben Arnold
Body Donors
9pm, Channel 5
A documentary showing corpses being embalmed and dissected could easily prove voyeuristic, especially coming from the unofficial home of celebrity autopsies, Channel 5. However, intersperse this with footage of Mike and Diana – terminal cancer patients who have pledged their bodies to medical science – and Body Donors becomes a heartbreaking time capsule of hopes, fears and final memories. Part one of two includes interviews with both the donors and their loved ones, as they prepare for an unconventional next step. Hannah J Davies
The Changing Room
10pm, Channel 4
A final glimpse into the changing rooms of Britain before the curtains are swung shut for the current series. Shoppers stepping into the gaze of the cameras tonight include Carissa, attempting to find an outfit with which to outshine everyone but the bride at her best friend’s wedding. Sisi, Taylor and Leema are on the hunt for holiday outfits that outdo even the most bronzed of fellow tourists, while goth girls Gracie and Laura finally eschew the monochrome look to introduce some colour into their clothing cycle. Mark Gibbings-Jones
CSI: The Last Ever Episode
10pm, Channel 5
The 15th and final season of CSI wrapped up earlier this year, but here’s a special feature-length farewell for the glitzy forensics mothership that outlasted (almost) all of its spinoffs. Original stars William Petersen and Marg Helgenberger return to Vegas to help Ted Danson unravel a series of casino bombings: could Grissom’s dominatrix frenemy Lady Heather be dishing out a different sort of punishment? For fans, it will be a bittersweet send-off, but Danson won’t be too glum – he’s off to join the continuing CSI: Cyber. Graeme Virtue
Fried 10.30pm, BBC3
After Croydon branch manager Tony defecates into a bap, it becomes clear that a change of management is needed. Incessantly perky HR drone Mary steps in from head office to take up the slack, but it’s not going to be easy. Assistant manager Derek is predictably bitter about being passed over again, so he’s keeping his new enemy uncomfortably close. Meanwhile, tragic singleton Joe is circling Amara after she finds out her boyfriend Dane has been cheating. It’s all rather unfunny, but at least this is the last episode. BA
The Daily Show With Trevor Noah
11pm, Comedy Central
Thirty-one-year-old South African comedian Trevor Noah was a surprise outside choice to take over from Jon Stewart in the hot seat of America’s premier satirical current affairs show. He’ll not be short of material for his maiden voyage, with Donald Trump’s rampaging on the presidential campaign trail alone enough to generate material for a dozen shows. However, it could be months – years, even – before he matches the seasoned pedigree established by the already missed Stewart. Tune in and give the lad a chance, though. David Stubbs
Film choices
The Duellists (Ridley Scott, 1977) 6.45pm, Film4
Scott’s first feature, adapted from a Joseph Conrad story, has Keith Carradine and a demonic Harvey Keitel as Hussars who can’t resist a slice of the action. So during pauses in the Napoleonic wars they take to carving each other up in a series of duels of honour. A glinting tale of obsession and macabre moral codes, strong on flashing blades. Paul Howlett
The Day Of The Jackal (Fred Zinnemann, 1973) 10pm, ITV4
Zinnemann’s attention to detail is closer to Frederick Forsyth’s intricate novel than the later Bruce Willis/Richard Gere double act, and he pulls off the feat of sustaining suspense, even though we know the Jackal must fail. Edward Fox is impassively effective as the cold-fish English assassin contracted to kill General De Gaulle; Michael Lonsdale is the French cop hunting him. PH
