The Fires that Foretold Grenfell
9pm, BBC Two

When Grenfell Tower caught fire last year, the flames spread rapidly due to flammable external cladding. There were no sprinklers to keep the fire in check, and emergency services advised residents to remain in their homes. All this had happened before, as we learn from this sober but stunning film, made up of five miniature documentaries about conflagrations in UK tower blocks or public buildings, from the Summerland disaster in 1973 to 2009’s Lakanal House fire. Jack Seale

The Great British Bake Off
8pm, Channel 4

After a butterfingers tweet from Prue Leith revealed last year’s winner early, here’s hoping we can enjoy the 2018 final unspoiled, especially as the three survivors are all so likable. Rahul, Ruby and Kim-Joy don their pinnies for a final push, including an unexpected field trip and a truly epic showstopper. Graeme Virtue

Informer
9pm, BBC One

Fledgling informant Raza is wired for sound as the thriller series continues, and it almost turns out to be his undoing in a cleverly orchestrated and extremely tense episode that sees him uncover a new lead. But possibly tonight’s biggest shock development is that ingenue Holly earns her corn. Mike Bradley

There She Goes
10pm, BBC Four

A trip to the local pool doesn’t go well, and there’s a mystery to be solved after Rosie keeps tapping out “onetwoman” on her communication device, leading to the question: what does Rosie want? (“I think most psychologists would go for Mini Cheddars,” suggests Simon.) Can her iPad history reveal any clues? Ali Catterall

The Reluctant Landlord
10pm, Sky1

Series two of Romesh Ranganathan’s new semi-autobiographical sitcom has been commissioned before the first has been aired, so he must be doing something right. Judge for yourself in its riotous opening episode, in which his character is forced to take over a family pub frequented by a curious set of locals. MB

Imagine: Becoming Cary Grant
10.45pm, BBC One

Director Mark Kidel’s affectionate, enquiring look at the life of the Hollywood star, born Archibald Leach in Bristol. It combines newly discovered home-movie footage shot by the actor himself with readings by Jonathan Pryce from Grant’s unpublished autobiography to stunning effect. MB

The Devil Wears Prada 6.35pm, Film4
The satirical high heels aren’t as sharp as they might be, but Meryl Streep’s performance as Miranda Priestly, the demanding editor of a New York fashion mag, expertly glosses over such weaknesses in this acerbic comedy. Anne Hathaway is the sweet new kid at the office and Stanley Tucci is Miranda’s camp assistant. Paul Howlett
