Plus Sized Wars
8pm, Channel 4

Documentary charting the revolution as brands try to keep up with the demand for fashionable plus-size clothes, while Meghan Trainor’s All About That Bass pumps out loud and proud. Evans is harnessing the power of influential fashion bloggers to shake off its image of middle-aged threads, while Yours Clothing signs up size 24 Instagram sensation Tess Holliday to front a campaign and she moves her inspired fans to tears. “Wouldn’t it be amazing if one day we didn’t have to have this plus-size thing?” says one wise observer. Hannah Verdier

The Cannabis Smugglers: Stacey Dooley Investigates
9pm, BBC3

After hunting high and low for meth labs in Mexico and tracking movements of ecstasy halfway around the globe, BBC3’s dauntless special correspondent completes her triptych of narcotic-themed investigations with an eye-opening trip to southern Africa. In Swaziland, Dooley meets the farmers cultivating ever more powerful strains of skunk bound for Europe, while in nearby Johannesburg, she witnesses the impact of street drug Nyope, a dangerously addictive cocktail of cannabis and heroin. Ordinary Lies
9pm, BBC1

Season finale of this ensemble drama series about how lies get out of hand. Beth and Mike’s affair is common knowledge in their car showroom workplace, the blinds often drawn on their “business meetings”. But when two policemen call at Beth’s home they bring news that they have recently arrested Beth’s missing-for-over-a-year husband, Dave (Shaun Dooley). All this forces some tough decision-making: the pair are torn between following their hearts and their heads, and neither is assisted by Beth’s indiscreet mother-in-law. John Robinson

Ballot Monkeys
10pm, Channel 4

In an election where the Tories, to use Lynton Crosby’s terminology, keep dropping dead cats on to the table, here come the creators of Drop The Dead Donkey. As they did with their 1990s news-com, Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkin have written scripts with gaps, to be filled at the last minute with oven-hot satire. The action flips between various shades of panic on board the Labour, Conservative, Lib Dem and Ukip battle buses. A strong cast is led by Ben Miller, Sarah Hadland and the lord high chancellor of topical zingers, Hugh Dennis. Jack Seale

Back In Time For Dinner
9pm, BBC2

In the final part of Back In Time For Dinner, the Robshaw family conclude their food-based time travel experiment by looking back at their own journey through the decades. They also examine how we eat presently, thanks to new research, and how we may eat in the future. They experience the joyless “food replacement” drink Soylent, which reduces meals to a nutrient-rich goo and which goes down with the disdain it deserves. Future meals heavy with insect protein don’t inspire much enthusiasm, either. Ben Arnold

Psychopath: The Devil’s Disciple
9pm, Channel 5

Professor of criminology David Wilson continues his exploration of infamous murderers with this profile of 70s killer Patrick Mackay, dubbed The Devil’s Disciple. Following a traumatic childhood and inadequate help for mental health problems, Mackay began a killing spree targeting the elderly female residents of prosperous London boroughs, even murdering a priest whom he had befriended. A troubling tale, but this type of seen-it-before sensationalism is easily outclassed by other more cerebral true crime efforts (see: The Jinx). Hannah J Davies

The 100
9pm, E4

It’s the final episode of the post-apocalyptic drama, one of the more successful of the genre, and a third series featuring its surprisingly well-groomed survivors has already been commissioned. Tonight, Clarke and Dante are forced into desperate measures to try to force Cage to stop his programme of bone marrow extraction. Meanwhile, Jaha and Murphy finally arrive at an island, where they separate and come across major discoveries that will doubtless provide fresh fodder for the action next season. David Stubbs
