24 Hours In The Past
9pm, BBC1

Day three for the celebs posing as Victorian workers means toiling in a pottery. Miquita Oliver’s sloppy clay manipulation causes everyone to forfeit their morning’s wages – imaginary ones, the show having spurned the chance to spice up the action by withholding appearance fees. But Miquita’s tears are real, as are Alistair McGowan’s when he’s moved by the beauty of the inside of a kiln. Then Ann Widdecombe triggers a rerun of the 1842 pottery riots. Watching this piffle is a gruelling hardship for us at home. Jack Seale

Wastemen
9pm, BBC2

Final part of the documentary following the events at Newcastle’s Byker waste-processing plant. Following the tales of Tyneside’s recycling refuseniks in earlier episodes, tonight’s takes a look at the largely unheralded byproducts of recycled waste. Much of Tyneside’s recyclable rubbish can be transformed into compost, or alternatively a green fuel that’s proved so popular it’s frequently shipped to Sweden. With such good use being made of the things everyday people leave behind, you suspect Uncle Bulgaria would be welling up with pride. Mark Jones

No Offence
9pm, Channel 4

Episode two of Paul Abbott’s police procedural and, having lost the serial-killer investigation to another team, DI Viv Deering (Joanna Scanlan) and her team instead target an illegal drugs factory. Meantime, attack survivor Cathy is staying at the home of DC Dinah Kowalska (Elaine Cassidy). Early days, of course, but this is shaping up to be something special, thanks to a combo of memorable characters, clever plotting and terrific one-liners. A suspect critiques Viv’s approach to interrogation: “Where were you trained, Currys?” Jonathan Wright

Big Brother: Timebomb Live Launch
9pm, Channel 5

The civilian version of BB is back and although nothing can compare to the bonkers mix of semi-famous faces on Celebrity Big Brother, these new housemates are going to do their best to grab their 15 minutes. Host Emma Willis is at her best doing a live launch and tonight she’ll be unveiling a new-look house, which has gone a bit Mad Men, but hopefully the sleek 60s design is where the sophistication ends. This year’s twists come in the form of “time-based tasks” so the pressure’s on for the wannabes. Hannah Verdier

Later Live – With Jools Holland
10pm, BBC2

The magic of live music brought to life in the traditional Later fashion: a man in a grey suit raising his arm and announcing a name while looking into the wrong camera. Still, there’s an impressive enough lineup to be contending with this week. Lianne La Havas, much-tipped a couple of years ago, returns while Curtis Harding brings the photogenic garage soul. A more traditional vibe comes from Father John Misty and an appearance from Lord Later himself, Paul Weller, with stuff from his new album, the grammatically off Saturns Pattern. John Robinson

The Football Mavericks
10pm, ITV4

Favourable football maverick status is only really conferred over time. Maybe in 2035, someone will make a documentary jauntily celebrating Raheem Sterling’s laughing-gas hijinks or Ashley Young’s problematic relationship with gravity. In the meantime, we’ll tut disapprovingly at the present while celebrating the past; a past that included such memorable boozing, ranting and raving wildcards as Brian Clough, Paul Gascoigne and Frank McAvennie. Hindsight shall not wither them. Phil Harrison

1992
10pm, Sky Arts 1

The Italian drama based around the “Clean Hands” investigation into corruption in the 1990s continues, with Pietro making the shocking discovery that there is a mole in the Mani Pulite team. Luca uncovers the awful truth about the tycoon Mainaghi – but how can he lay his hands on the necessary evidence to expose him? Meanwhile, Leo must come to terms with the odd decisions of his daughter. As ever, there is an almost gourmet quality to the quality of Italian political machinations and their consequences. David Stubbs
