A Scots grandfather claims he was sent home from hospital in the middle of the night wearing only his pyjamas and slippers - after doctors missed that he was suffering a stroke.

Terry Kerr, 72, said he was told to phone for a taxi “on the way out” to take him 50 miles home at 1am, after he was rushed there by ambulance and made to wait more than seven hours to be seen.

A tot was rushed to hospital with serious burns after a firework was 'hurled at his pram'.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the incident on November 7 following reports that the child had been hit by a firework.

Police say the boy suffered "serious" injuries and was taken to hospital.

Scotland is set to be hit by heavy snowfall next week, according to the latest weather forecast.

Experts at WXCharts anticipate a band of wintry showers to engulf much of the Highlands during the early part of the morning of Saturday, November 20.

The snow is expected to become heavier across the west coast of the country, with the white stuff potentially in other areas.
