Tudor Simionov death: Man held in Park Lane party killing probe accused of carrying gun

A man arrested in connection with the murder of a doorman at a New Year’s Eve party in Park Lane was carrying a gun at the time of the fracas, it was alleged today.

Imran Mostafa Kamel, 26, was due to appear in court this morning charged with two counts of possession of a firearm. It is understood the charges relate to the incident at Fountain House when security guard Tudor Simionov, 33, was stabbed to death.

The doorman was knifed in the chest as he tried to stop a group of men gatecrashing the £12.5 million townhouse in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

Kamel, of Ealing, was due to appear at Westminster magistrates’ court charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear or danger and possession of a firearm when prohibited for life.

The development came as it was reported that Mr Simionov was not supposed to be working that night but had agreed to cover for a colleague.

There were also unconfirmed reports that a VIP sex party was being held at the townhouse. Speaking yesterday, Mr Simionov’s girlfriend Madalina Anghel told the Standard: “He was my future husband and we came to London from Romania for a better life.”

Two of Mr Simionov’s colleagues, aged 29 and 37, and a 29-year-old woman were also stabbed during the fracas.

Mr Simionov, who lived in Ilford, was the second person to die in London in 2019 after mother-of-one Charlotte Huggins, 33, was stabbed in Camberwell.
