Tuchel's nightmare Chelsea scenario, Liverpool vs Real Madrid - Champions League draw simulated

Three Premier League heavyweights will be in the hat for the UEFA Champions League quarter-final draw on Friday.

Chelsea ensured they would join Liverpool and Manchester City in the last-eight after getting the better of Atletico Madrid at Stamford Bridge last night, winning 2-0.

Hakim Ziyech netted his first Stamford Bridge goal with just over ten minutes to go until half time, finishing off a sweeping counter-attack, before substitute Emerson Palmieri put the gloss on the victory, making it 2-0 right at the death.

The Blues' 2-0 triumph meant they have won the tie 3-0 on aggregate, meaning they extended their unbeaten start to life under head coach Thomas Tuchel to 13 matches in all competitions.

Now, the Blues have made sure that they will be in the hat for the draw for the last-eight, which takes place in Nyon, Switzerland, on Friday.

Liverpool cruised into the quarter-finals after getting the better of German outfit RB Leipzig, winning 4-0 on aggregate. Jurgen Klopp's side won both legs 2-0, meaning they put their disappointing Premier League form to one side.

City, meanwhile, also advanced to the last-eight in similar circumstances, beating another German outfit - Borussia Monchengladbach - 4-0 on aggregate, also winning both legs by two goals to nil.

The three English clubs will be joined in the hat by Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain, Porto and Real Madrid. There is no seeding for this stage of the competition, meaning anyone can be pitted against anyone, raising the prospect of some very exciting and intriguing ties.

And that is exactly what happened when we ran a draw simulation using our very own simulator.

The draw is to take place on Friday, but football.london has done a simulation ahead of the real draw and it has thrown up some exciting fixtures, including a reunion between Tuchel and PSG, with Chelsea having been drawn to face them.

That would be a gigantic tie between two of Europe's biggest clubs if it what was to come to fruition, plus the added factor of Tuchel going up against his former club.

Meanwhile, Liverpool would face a fascinating-looking tie with Real Madrid in a clash between two of the Champions League's most successful clubs of all-time.
