Tuchel desperate to keep Antonio Rudiger at Chelsea as de Ligt is clubs transfer priority

Welcome to our football.london Carefree Chelsea daily news round-up. Maybe not the first, we've definitely done news round-ups before, and European round-ups, so I guess in some ways it's not that new at all. Anyway, we thought we would enter the world of football in a broad and roundabout manner for you and have some fun with some of the stories and captions doing the daily rounds.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek impresses against Aston Villa

Amid uncertainty over Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s place in the current Chelsea squad, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has revealed that the player is playing for his career at the club.

Speaking before the team’s Carabao Cup game against Aston Villa on Wednesday evening, the German said: “We gave him some [minutes] against Zenit in a close game," Tuchel said in his press conference ahead of the Aston Villa match.

“That was not a gift, he deserved it and I trust him. He accepts his situation and what he makes out of it is good training every day. There is a big chance tomorrow he can show it.”

Chelsea fans sure thought so, who said he will play himself into the team with great performances through rotation - just like he did last night.

Matthijs de Ligt is a transfer priority for Blues

After failing to sign Jules Kounde in the summer transfer window Chelsea have turned their focus to Juventus defender, Matthijs de Ligt.

According to The Mirror, despite a good defensive record from Chelsea so far with five clean sheets from the last seven matches - the Blues are looking for depth at the back.

Defenders Thiago Silva, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen have all had a good start to the season, but with the exit of Kurt Zouma to West Ham Tuchel will be looking to bolster his Chelsea defence.

This could all open up a window for de Ligt to leave Turin, but Chelsea will have to trigger a mammoth £103million release clause.

Caliomercato have said that that the Blues like the centre back ‘very much’.

Club need to meet Rudiger demands to keep player

Antonio Rudiger is looking likely to leave the club if his wage demands are not met - this is according to 90min.

With only 12 months left on his contract, he will be able to talk to other clubs in January regarding his future, ones who could possibly meet his ideal wage sum.

Thomas Tuchel per the report is desperate to keep the German international at the club, making it known to the club that it should be the clubs' priority to do so.
