Londoners battling the Tube strikes can at least enjoy good weather as they struggle to work.
The Met Office’s forecast for London shows almost uninterrupted sunshine during the days the strikes are taking place.
Drivers belonging to the RMT union are striking for 24 hours on both Tuesday, April 21, and Thursday, April 23, with action beginning at midday on both days.
It comes as Transport for London (TfL) warns there will be no service at all on the Piccadilly and Circle lines, with other lines running a reduced service.
No trains will operate on the Metropolitan line between Baker Street and Aldgate, or on the Central line between White City and Aldgate.
But while the Tube walkouts will undoubtedly cause a travel headache for many, at least the weather won’t be compounding people’s misery.
According to the Met Office, Tuesday will be largely dry with sunny spells - particularly over the evening commute. Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 14C.
It should get steadily warmer through the rest of the week with highs of 16C on Wednesday, 19C on Thursday and Friday.
In September, week-long Tube strikes sparked a massive surge in the number of Londoners getting on their bike.
An extraordinary two million trips were made by cyclists on Monday, September 8. Normally about 1.4m journeys are made by bike on weekdays. Lime bike hires rose by as much as 70% during the walkouts.
