TfL Tube delays: London Underground commuters face rush-hour chaos as King's Cross signal failure sparks 'severe delays' and suspensions

Commuters are facing major disruption on the Tube this morning with four lines partly suspended and “severe delays” elsewhere.

A signal failure at King’s Cross forced the Circle and Hammersmith & City lines to both be suspended between Baker Street and Hammersmith.

There are heavy delays on the rest of both lines, threatening chaos for hundreds of thousands of Londoners heading to work on Wednesday morning.

The Metropolitan line is also suspended between Baker Street and Aldgate, adding further disruption to delays triggered by an earlier signal failure at Amersham.

The District line has been suspended between High Street Kensington and Edgware Road following another signalling problem at Edgware Road.

Transport for London has advised that tickets will be accepted on local buses “via any reasonable route”.

A TfL spokesperson said: “We apologise to customers for the disruption to their journeys this morning which was caused by a number of signal failures affecting the Circle, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan and District lines. Our engineers have been on site and working hard to fix these issues as soon as possible.”

There was a good service on the other London Underground lines.
