Tua Tagovailoa gives Texas A&M hope with first INT of the season

No. 1 Alabama was poised to take a commanding lead over Texas A&M at the end of the first half following a turnover, as Heisman Trophy frontrunner Tua Tagovailoa had a 1st-and-10 from the Aggies’ 14-yard line. Two short Najee Harris runs left the Crimson Tide with a 3rd-and-9, and Tagovailoa threw his first pick of the season in the Aggies’ endzone on a throw intended for Jerry Jeudy.

Texas A&M Demani Richardson played the pass perfectly, baiting Tagovailoa to throw to his star receiver before undercutting the route to get the pick.

Last season, Tagovailoa didn’t throw an interception until his ninth game of the season, a 29-0 win over LSU. The INT snapped his 186-attempt streak without an interception, which was the longest in the country, according to CBS.
