Tua Tagovailoa carted off after hit amid disastrous start vs Bills

Things are not off to a promising start for the Miami Dolphins in Week 2. The Dolphins find themselves in an early hole against the Buffalo Bills, but there’s an even more pressing development for the long-term status of the team — quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was battered repeatedly in the early going against the Bills, eventually getting knocked out of the game after a free rush by Bills DE A.J. Epenesa on a 4th and 2 attempt near midfield.

Dolphins right tackle Jesse Davis whiffed completely in coverage and allowed a free run at Tagovailoa, who spent several minutes on the field before eventually walking off under his own power. Shortly after, Tagovailoa was loaded up onto the card and taken back to the locker room.

His status is unknown and backup QB Jacoby Brissett is currently holding things down at quarterback during his absence.
