TSB set to axe 17 bank branches in Scotland

TSB has announced it is going to axe 17 branches in Scotland.

The closures come as part of the bank’s three-year strategic plan, which was confirmed on Monday.

The branches to go are: Barrhead, Govan, Bishopbriggs, Milngavie, Dunbar, Portobello, Jedburgh, Kinross, Tain, Uddingston, Edinburgh Clerk Street, Carluke, Brechin, Dumbarton, Clarkston, Edinburgh Morningside and Wishaw.

The closures will take place between April and September 2020.

The TSB said: “Closing branches is always a difficult decision with changes impacting people and communities.

“In deciding which branches to close, TSB conducted a review of its network, including its usage, proximity to alternative branches, the needs of vulnerable customers and the accessibility of alternative services such as ATMs and the Post Office.”
