TS examining reports for new greenfield, brownfield airports

The Telangana Government is examining techno feasibility studies of the proposed sites of three greenfield and an equal number of brownfield airports in the State, Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Roads and Buildings, Legislative Affairs and Housing Minister, told the Wings India 2022 here on Friday.

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has completed the techno feasibility studies of the six sites and the reports are under examination. The three greenfield airports have been proposed in Bhadradri - Kothagudem, Jakaranpally in Nizamabad, and Gudibanda in Mahabubnagar.

Mamnoor in Warangal Urban district, Basanthnagar in Peddapally district, and Adilabad, are being considered for the three brownfield airports. The proposals are in line with the emphasis on facilitating air travel to different parts of the State.

“A chain of helipads to connect remote parts of our State have also been proposed,” Mr. Reddy. He said that aviation and aerospace is a thrust sector for the State government and Telangana has a vibrant ecosystem to support its growth.
