'Try to be cute' - Liverpool urged to offer midfielder as part of Jude Bellingham deal

Liverpool have been warned by one of their former players that it’s “panic stations” over a deal to sign Jude Bellingham.

The Reds continue to be heavily linked with a move to sign the Borussia Dortmund midfielder. Jurgen Klopp is well known to be an admirer of the 19-year-old but it remains to be seen what his future will be.

Real Madrid are expected to be Liverpool's biggest rivals for the signing of Bellingham. The La Liga giants pipped the Reds to the capture of another of the world's best young midfield talents, Aurelien Tchouameni, in the summer.

With Bellingham's next club still a big talking point, pundits continue to weigh in with their opinion on the England international. Now it’s the turn of ex-Reds midfielder Don Hutchison.

He believes that Liverpool have to remain calm in what is expected to be a fierce battle for Bellingham's signatures and even suggested the idea of offering one of their current midfielders as part of any deal with Dortmund.

“Now it’s panic stations,” Hutchison told ESPN. “You have to make sure, you don’t just panic.

“Even if you can do all the work behind the scenes. Speaking to Jude Bellingham’s mum and dad. Speaking to Dortmund. Speaking to the player.

“Trying to be cute and offer maybe a Naby Keita to Dortmund, or whatever you see fit. But they have got to make sure that they don’t just panic.”
