Truthiness has been named as one of US television's greatest buzzwords of the year by the word-trend group Global Language Monitor, which carries out an annual survey of words on TV that have an impact on the wider language. It defines "truthiness" as meaning "truth unencumbered by the facts" and was popularised in the States by political satirist Stephen Colbert on his show The Colbert Report. In Britain, it has been championed by the PR supremo, Julia Hobsbawm, founder of Editorial Intelligence. (Via Reuters: Entertainment)
