Trunk Club to debut women's service

July 21--Women yearning for wardrobe help have a new ally.

Trunk Club this fall will debut a women's service that offers the same one-on-one personal styling advice that it has offered men since its launch in 2009, the Chicago-based e-tailor announced Tuesday.

As with the men's service, the new women's business will have Trunk Club stylists handpick clothes unique to each customer's size, style and fit preference and ship them directly to the customer to try on at home. Customers pay only for what they keep and send the rest back. There are no styling fees.

Women already enjoy receiving boxes full of stylist-picked clothes to try on at home through services such as Stitch Fix. Trunk Club says what sets it apart from competitors are the "high-touch" personal relationships stylists build with their customers to create shopping experiences tailored to a customer's life.

In addition to the e-commerce site, Trunk Club has "clubhouses" where customers can meet in person with their stylists and try on clothes in Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York and Washington. Trunk Club will be adding women's fittings in all but the New York showroom.

The company was purchased for $350 million last year by Nordstrom.
